The Cheshire Grin ![]() What if there really was reincarnation? ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Konnichiwa, Sir Bill! I don't know how you do it, but you have so many 'faces' to your writing style that it's almost spooky. Some, but not many (as far as I know) writers can write in any genre they want, and you obviously can. This is another great piece, Bill! The idea of using the Cheshire cat for this was a nice touch, as you could have just written this with any old cat, and it would probably have been just as good. And the idea of having Mrs. Kremburger thinking Leo was a lion (another nice touch: Leo, lion) was great. I noticed you didn't use too many similes or metaphors in this piece, as opposed as to the other one I just reviewed, but now that I've noticed that, you've made me realize that certain stories need to have certain ways of being told, which is why I think you probably used them sparingly with this. The whole piece flowed smoothly from beginning to end, and having Leo find that money for Mrs. Kremburger and staying at her side until she passed on was a nice, warmhearted way to end this, not to mention Leo finding a companion to share the rest of his days with at 'an old house down on 415 Maple Street, where two cats (now) live all alone.' ![]() You blow my mind, Bill. To say that I'm envious would be a major understatement! ![]() ![]() PS-Are there any stories in your portfolio that don't have an award on them?
