I've never internet dated, and never will, for precisely these reasons! This sounds like a nightmare, but I think it's great that you at least found somewhat amusing. I don't know how, though.
You did a great job of recounting this ordeal, and the phone dialogue was well done.
I did see a couple of tiny niggles though:
'Let me interject that at (t)his point I was sitting straight up...'
'I was writing as fast as I can while biting my lip...' (could)
