What an amazingly beautiful poem. It really did bring tears to my eyes--I swear. I think you really captured a pet's last words and really brought all those feelings to the surface. I recently lost two pets and this poem really spoke to my heart. It had a good flow; I liked your rhyme scheme. I think the last two lines spoke to me most. They really ended the note on a powerful note of finality. I think you chose those words well to really give them all the power they deserve. One suggestion might be to play around with punctuation. I think it's more interesting when I see writers vary sentence structures and play around with different styles of punctuation to really pace and move their poetry. While this poem is amazing and I believe it stands just fine, I think that in the future it would be interesting to see what you can do with things like em dashes and juxtaposition to really experiment with your poetry.
