What brought the Hand of THiNG to your port?

*Hand1* I am reviewing the latest issue of your Jane Austen Newsletter for October. Great work, as always, Megan!

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* That thing about the auction really caught my attention. So, she (Kelly Clarkson) bid and won the auction and then they decided to try and make her feel guilty about taking the ring home with her? Is that what happened. That is classic bait and switch. That is where someone asks for things (like bids for a cause) and then switches what they are really getting. So, did Kelly Clarkson get her money refunded? I bet they made it so she had to donate the ring and not get any money back. So, she is the nice person who gives in.

Sounds to me like the auction house needs a good auditing.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

Wow, I never knew that actress who played Caroline Bingly was related to Jane Austen. Well, her brother anyway. How could she be related to the brother and not to Jane?

To me, there is only one Darcy ever and that is Colin Firth. I cannot accept anyone else in that role and I never will be able to. He owns that part as far as I am concerned and his birthday (month and day, not year) are the same as my Dad's. I think Hugh Grant might have a birthday then or close to it.

But, as we all know, Hugh Grant is no Colin Firth.

My friend, Joanne loves Hugh Grant since Four Weddings and a Funeral. I think he's funny, but he just doesn't do much for me, even in Sense and Sensibility. I am not sure why he puts me off, but he does. But he was very funny in Love Actually. He almost appealed to me with that comedic role as Prime Minister.

Colin Firth rocks!

OH, and by the way, thank you for recommending POLDARK to me. You were the first one to do that and I have it and have watched it all the way through. That guy who plays Ross Poldark looks a lot like my youngest nephew and if the outtakes are any gauge, he's just as goofy.

Thanks again, Megan! *Heart*

I am not an expert on poetry or prose or much else. I am merely a reader who loves to read. I am pretty much done with editing as I realize that more and more I do not enjoy doing that. I read and review and react to what I read on the page. So, this is not a detailed edit. It is a review, which is my reaction to the writing at hand, based on my own experiences. So, with that in mind, take the review for what it is worth - which is one ordinary soul's opinion. If I send a review, it means I enjoyed my reading experience enough to let you know it.
