| Overall Impression: This reads like a suicide note. I'm sorry 'goodbye' can be so hurtful to any human being; especially when there's another 'break up' in the heart. This poem turns the heartbreak onto the deeper self totally feeling sorry for self, wronged and left behind without seeming to have an understanding what is causing "another has joined their ranks" which I take to mean 'leaving' but part of this poem is like an evil criminal on "Criminal Minds" television show where the debauchery of evil is unbelievable. The person speaking through the Poet has lost all hope of successfully enjoying another relationship "every time I do feel more guilt, "I try to tell myself it isn't my fault'. There is always one who is 'at fault' when a relationship fails; usually it's that one who can never see his/her own fault in the relationship. This poem has a lot of power within the lines. The Poet has told just enough to show how the character of the poem has led to the final breakup. With no rhyme, in four stanzas the Poet has given the internal message the character gives to himself; then the final stand alone line is the final touch, set apart alone, as the character is so alone. That's great poetic work. Thank you for such a powerful realistic poem. Now this and the previous poem I just read, have exhausted me as if I had just watched an ugly "Criminal Minds".
