Hello Mandy ![]() I just read your poem "Invalid Item" ![]() Keep in mind that I'm merely basing my review off my own personal interpretation of your work and don't feel obligated to use any suggestions that may lie within. I consider myself a forever student and sometimes simply enjoy exploring new poetic devices I have learned when I notice them. Hopefully you'll find this review helpful and encouraging! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Disgustingly beautiful always comes to mind when I read some of your work. It never ceases to amaze how far you can plunge your arms into a vat of blood and body parts and still come out looking pristine. I like that in the end the victim settled herself into her own predicament and became what she was being molded into... a pretty picture. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Your use of 14 syllables per line made this another joyful read. It always seems to pretty up a bloody poem when you can sing about the insanity. It become a fun flick of the tongue to speak of dark deeds. The rhyming scheme is flawless though it still holds the feel of a free verse poem. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Before I started reading I was overwhelmed with the format, one big chunk is doting when approaching a poem, for me at least. I think breaking this into chunks would make it a lot easier to read and more enjoyable. The italics give a dreamy feel so I do like that. skilful = skillful ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know what it was, but this line was just disgustingly fabulous You pick the scabs with purpose so they never really seal and even squeeze the older cuts that still refuse to heal. And this was a fabulous centerpiece: So is it me or is it you? No longer do I know. Each day your touch grows cooler, and your eyes say let me go. when the intimacy of the violence blurs together and the predator and prey become one-- this I imagine must be where the psychos live when they get enthralled with murder, its the part I can't grasp and the part that draws me in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bloody great work again Mandy. Don't stop! ![]() ![]() ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ![]() ![]()
