First writes can always be made better with several rewrites, but you know that already, don't you? A couple of places where you could tweak it are:

it got out my head

A word is missing here.

Im running on a tree!

Is this the right word?

Be sure and read your work several times, aloud. Your ears will catch what your eyes did not. Really.
