This is simply incredible. There is imagery that collides with the readers emotions. There is rhyme and flow that are not hampered by the breaks in the thought process.
Your perception of the "light" is vivid and the dimming over time becomes more real and stark. Yet hope is there as you want to rekindle that light that is now so low in your loved ones eye.
