You enter the machine, following the man through the shiny white corridors as the outer door closes behind you. It looks rather like a cross between the starship Enterprise and the TARDIS. Eventually you end up in something that looks rather like a cross between a living room and a control room. Your host taps a few controls and then invites you to sit on the settee.
"Okay," You comment as you both sit down, "What happened to me and why are you and all this on my scale?"
"I think your most vital questions will be answered with this statement." He says. "Naomi spent an extremely long time building both this molecular transport machine and a shrink ray." You look partially bewildered. "I am her brother." You're stunned. You remember Naomi mentioning an older brother but you didn't picture him like this.
"She wanted to test her shrink ray before using it on you, so I was the unwilling guinea pig." He continued. "Since it worked she showed great patience in letting me get used to it and explaining the controls of this machine. Of course they were all too large for me but once I had clearly understood how it all worked she then shrank it so I could come over to pick you up."
"Wait a minute." You say. "Wait a minute. How could she shrink me unless this has an inbuilt shrink ray?"
"Good guess." He answers. "But her shrink ray uses quantum energy fields to shrink things. First she locates the geographical location of her target, then she sets the field intensity and then that field is projected to and generated at the target so only the target is affected and nothing inbetween. Once the shrinking is complete the energy field disperses into the background radiation so nothing here has retained that energy field." You're still confused.
"What about this?" You ask, indicating what you're both in.
"Simple relativity." He answers. "E=mc². The machine disperses itself into an amount of energy that is stored on Naomi's computer, the matrix is then replicated at a pre-programmed geopgraphic location. It's a lot like going into a deep sleep, you're only unconscious for a second and then everything's back to normal."
