This choice: Marisa Remore opens the door and ushers you in • Go Back...Chapter #6Important Discussions by: Ryan Marisa Remore wasn't a daughter of the founders of Remore academy. She was the daughter of Arabelle Remore's sister, but was offered a scholarship due to family relations. She understood that in no uncertain terms did this mean she would pass on family relations alone, and worked hard to earn her place at the academy.
With the Might, Sword and Lightning Essences, and the Avatar confluence, she was a magic swordsman, and one that knew her way around both conjured weapons and forged ones. Like Frederica, whom she smiled at as she opened the door, she was Iron Rank, but closing in on Bronze. The power of the monsters around Vitesse meant that she couldn't push her abilities as much as she would like. She needed a permanent team. One that could allow her to face monsters that she wasn't ideally suited to. Even then, she would have to leave Vitesse to properly challenge herself and her team.
She looked over at Frederica as she led her inside. Frederica wasn't trained at the Remore academy, being an active adventure and member of her church. With the Swift, Wing and Magic Essence, she had rejected her confluence, as many clergy did, in order to receive a Divine Travel Essence from her goddess. Would Frederica be interested in joining a team with her? Perhaps, and having a member of Travel's clergy along would certainly open doors, and the essences she had picked would give some interesting combat options depending on what abilities she had awakened. Marisa didn't know all of Frederica's abilities, but she knew she had some ability to fly magical vehicles, and a portal power, which already made her desirable as a team member. Marisa wondered why she hadn't already been snatched up by another team in the area.
"I need a favour," Frederica said, barely sitting down before getting to business "Something I think you or the academy are well placed to help with."
"Intriguing," Marisa said, as she poured tea for each of them "Elaborate, please. You have my interest."
Frederica explained about her failed familiar summoning ritual, and the Outworlder that had appeared.
"I know Outworlders always end up at the centre of important events," Frederica finished "So since I was partly responsible for bringing her here, I wanted to help her find essences and train her up. Can you or your academy help her with that?"
"Well, the school year is just about over," said Marisa "I can ask about getting her into the scholarship programme for next year. I have a condition, however."
Frederica nods. "Naturally. What's your condition?"
"I'm looking to form an adventuring team," Marisa said "I'd like you, and potentially your outworlder friend, to join my team."
Frederica raised an eyebrow. "Me? I know we're friends, but don't you want someone more qualified? A few of the other Remore Academy students surely would be better to form a party with."
Marisa nods. "Some of them would certainly join up, however the ones I would ask don't want to leave Vitesse, and I think in order to push myself and my new team, we need to move to more low magic areas."
Frederica nods. "I see. And I accept. We'll need to organize essences for my friend, though."
"There are a few left over from some of the people that were scouted," Marisa said "I can probably convince Uncle Gabriel to part with two essences, but nothing higher rarity than Uncommon. How soon can you bring her here?"
