Tina heard the dreaded mumbles of a phone call her mother was having with a relative. Without much to do she had become a master of eavesdropping and could usually fill in the blanks.
What she had gathered from her mother's call family were coming to visit though she didn't know who and for how long. What she did know is it meant that she'd be put away for the time being and that was the worst.
As soon as Tina heard the goodbye, her mother had entered her sister's room. Without even acknowledging her she grabbed one of the empty boxes being used to back up the room and put Tina inside it. She then shut the lid and carried it up to the attic.
Tina was left alone in darkness, discarded like an ornament by her own mother and for who knew how long.
