Chapter #7

Duck and Cover

The taller giantess was a colossus that you couldn’t even properly comprehend, much less contact. The smaller one though? There might be a chance there. She was still towering, but next to the one she was busy arguing with, she seemed much more manageable. If you’d known how badly you were underestimating the task you’d set to accomplish, you might have resigned yourself to a life of scavenging crumbs in the corners and shadows of the room. But, you were an idiot, so you took off running to catch up to the titanic tween who had just been left behind in the middle of the kitchen as heated words flew by overhead.

You felt the ground shudder underneath you with each step the towering titans took. The vigor you’d set out with to catch up to the younger giantess quickly fizzled as an earthquake tangled your legs and send you spilling into the grout trenches between the kitchen tiles.

THOOM…THOOOM…THOOOOM!

Forced the floor, your world was enveloped by shadows as the slippers of the taller giantess pathed a path directly towards you. Her face was red as her voice thundered out, “YOU’RE SO ANNOYING, JUST LET IT GO ALREADY!”

KATHOOOOOM!

A stomp by the towering tween kept you down as the taller giantess strode forward. Her fists were shaking as she shouted, “YOU SAID YOU’D HELP ME TODAY! YOU’RE ALWAYS DOING THIS!” Your ears were ringing and the world had started swimming as dizziness took all concept of up-and-down away from you. Each quake tossed you around like a sailor lost at sea during a raging storm. With your stomach ricocheting around your body, nausea took over as the pair continued shouting, their voices drowning out even your ability to think. Looking up, all you could see was the vast expanse of darkness from the underside of the taller giantess’ foot. It fell towards you like the judgment of a divine executioner as you felt true hopelessness wash through you….

THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The foot slammed down directly on top of you. If you hadn’t been caught in the grout, you’d have been a smear…instead, you were just heavily concussed as you slammed back and forth between the unyielding rubber foundation of the titan’s footwear and the rock-hard grout basin that had protected you as best it could.

“SIENNA! GABBIE! IT’S TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING FOR THIS. CALL A TRUCE TILL BREAKFAST IS OVER AT LEAST!” a third voice thundered, its brassy tone muffled from beneath Sienna’s slipper. The mother was finally here. A third giantess wasn’t welcome, but at least she stopped the other two from getting as energetic as they were. Light finally found you as Sienna stepped off, grumbling under her breath as she walked towards the table. You could hear the groan of chairs getting pulled out as you worked to reorient yourself after your near-death experiences between the giant pair you’d discovered in here.
“GABBIE, SIT,” the mother said again as a deep shadow fell over you.

THOOM…THOOM…THOOM…THOOM…

You looked up to see the massive tween, her face still red, holding a bowl as she stomped in your direction. “FINE,” Gabbie huffed as you started sprinting, desperate not to be caught underfoot once again.

THOOOOOOOM!

Her foot slammed down right behind you, the gust of wind sending you tumbling forward towards the table as another colossal chair was pulled out. Bruised, dizzy, and disoriented, you felt the ground tremble as Gabbie took a seat and her long, slender legs swung overhead.

BABOOM….

Flinching, you found yourself between the giantess’ feet…the older giantess several hundred yards away seated at the other side of the table. You had no doubt a third pair of feet would be joining you down here first as you tried to adjust your game plan. If you’d learned one thing this morning, it was that opportunities didn’t stick around for long. With that said, you decided to….
