Eric was watching the news on TV while sitting on the sofa. The Texas state daily report goes with the damage caused by the giants so that people know which roads and neighborhoods were damaged that day to avoid traffic jams. The picture shows a four-lane road that is bisected by a huge footprint. A delivery boy did not pay enough attention and a traffic jam of several kilometers was caused by him. In the other picture, a part of a city was left without electricity because two children knocked down an electric pole while playing.
Eric looked at the reports grumpily. Giants are so clumsy. According to him, they should have been banned from the vicinity of cities a long time ago. But not! Giants are cute, giants are useful, giants are people too. His parents told him when he asked about them.
If a boy transports several tons of goods for a large company from one end of the country to the other, no one will mind if he steps on a busy road in the process. In fact, some people are even happy about it because someone has to fix the damage.
The people were not bothered by the presence of the giants. And the kids think they're cool. But he didn't like them. Ever since he was scolded as a little boy for breaking an old vase. They said he should take responsibility for it. Then the same people waved when they heard that a giant accidentally entered a parking lot and crushed several cars. He found it unfair.
The only good thing for the boy was that no giants lived near them. That's when he heard his parents talking from the kitchen.
"Did you hear that?" His mother asked. "The empty house at the end of the street will soon be moved into."
"No." His father answered disinterestedly.
"I heard that a man is moving there with his son." His mother said enthusiastically. "I also heard that the boy is a giant."
Eric forgot to even breathe when he heard that. His peaceful little giant-free world is destroyed. If he's lucky, the new neighbor will only be a few hundred feet tall. But if he isn't, then the new boy could be thousands of feet tall.
