Chapter #6

Valentine's Day

    by: Unknown
Valentine's Day. A day devoted totally to love, and to the celebration of Saint Valentine. You could just tell this by looking all over the mall of Great Tracts. Decorated in hearts, Cupids, and images of love, marriage, and joy. Reds and pinks were seen everywhere, stores were having sales on chocolates and gifts, and there were quite a few couples around the mall. It could make anyone happy.

Sitting in the food court were two women, watching the couples around the mall. One was an medium-height African-American woman with brown hair in a grey hoodie and grey jeans. She had a fairly slender build, though with some muscle tone to her. The other was a pale woman with dyed blue hair in a tank top promoting a metal band and a green skirt. She was fairly curvy, but also only reached 4'10'' in height, despite being the same age as her friend.

"Why'd you come here anyway, Sarah? Don't you have a date with your boyfriend?" The blue-haired girl replied.

"Nope. His mom's still in the hospital. He had to rush to see her." Sarah replied. "Donna, why don't you just go out there and mingle a bit? You might find someone."

"...nah." Donna replied. "I'm doing ok for myself. 'sides, today doesn't just have to be about romantic love. I love you as a friend, don't I?"

"Fair enough." Sarah replied. It was then she noticed something. Near one of the Italian restaurants was a women looking around nervously. She was an Asian-American woman about her age with long black hair, a white sweater, and jeans. What really caught her attention was the woman was arguing with someone, though Sarah couldn't make out who it was.

"Sarah!" Donna yelled, getting Sarah's attention again. "I said you wanna head to the movies?"

"Ah, no. I gotta get home and cook supper." She said. "Hey, you know that woman over there? She's arguing with someone."

Donna looked, and saw the woman. "Oh, I've seen her around. I think her names Jessica." Donna replied. "We probably shouldn't get involved."

"Yeah." Sarah replied.
