Ranjan had come across a crashed plane that was in the process of making food-based deliveries. The plane had run out of fuel and crashed in the jungle.
"Mowgli, look!" Ranjan told Mowgli as he pointed to the plane.
"What is it, Ranjan?" Mowgli asked Ranjan. He looked inside the wreckage of the plane and saw food containers filled with fruit, vegetables, meat, and bread. There were more foods in the wreckage of the plane than the shops the Man-village were able to stock. The plane's pilot and crew all fled after the crash, so the food appeared to be left unattended, and the food was in danger of spoiling if not taken care of fast. There was so much food that Mowgli and Ranjan didn't know where to start. If they brought it all back to the Man-village, they were certain to earn praise from their parents and maybe even the other villagers, as they'd have enough food to last for weeks. However, Mowgli and Ranjan were still hungry, and they wondered if they should eat some of the food before carrying the rest back. It wasn't ideal to have to carry the food back on an empty stomach, but their parents taught them that hard work comes before a reward.
