The rules were soon agreed on. Four cards with the participants' names would be thrown into a bag; the first two names drawn would be the first fighting pair, the remaining two going second.
Tickle-fights would happen on the mat in the living room. It was forbidden to move outside the ring, marked on the floor with crayon, or to use any other means of attack except tickles. Wrestling moves, for restraining and such, were okay.
"What about Mouse?" Chris asked. "She's smaller and weaker than any of us. She'll be at a disadvantage."
"Hmm, true." Jamie said. "Whoever fights Mouse will have to accept being tied on their ankles and wrists. Is that fair?"
The others nodded indicating that it was.
The four friends lined up next to the mat, ready for their first big official tournament.
They chose Chris as the referee for the drawing.
"Okay" Chris announced, pulling the first two names. "The first pair is..."
