Reuniting with Sunset Shimmer

As the magic traveled around the residential districts, it was about to enter a random home before it suddenly stopped. Then it turned around and headed out towards some old factories.

After splitting off from Princess Twilight's friends, Sunset Shimmer headed straight for her home: an old abandoned factory.

No one at CHS knew that she was practically homeless, having only managed to scrape by with the few things that she brought with her from Equestria and sold at flea markets. It's not much, but Sunset was able to manage to get by with what little she had.

Besides, she was more focused on maintaining an image as she became the Queen of the school as well as getting back at Princess Celestia and finally becoming a Princess herself. Only for her to find out that her former mentor had a new student, who became a Princess instead of her! She couldn't believe it.

That purple Pony became what Sunset was supposed to become! It wasn't fair!

It had to be that crown. That had to be the reason how a Pony could become an Alicorn!

And despite the Princess, Twilight Sparkle, trying to stop her and get it back Sunset had the last laugh after finally getting her hands on it and putting it on. Finally; she will become what she wanted to be!

Only... it did not work out the way she thought it would go.

Sunset scoffed as she lay on her makeshift bed, still in her damaged clothes.

She remembered the power before everything went wrong as she was forcibly changed against her will. She remembered the most unbearable pain her body just experienced as it changed including her back sprouting demonic wings and a tail emerging on her, human, tailbone. Both alone were literally emerging inside out.

Sunset shivered as she remembered her mind being essentially attacked before she was fully transformed into a literal demon. She hugged herself as horror filled her when the memories of her attacking the Princess and her friends with the full intent of killing them, before enslaving the rest of CHS.

She didn't want that! All she wanted was to become a Princess! To be able to stand toe to toe with her!

But thankfully, Princess Twilight and her friends were able to stop her with the literal 'Power of Friendship'. Something Sunset scoffed at a lot before but seeing it happen before her eyes were still shocking. And then that beam they used on her that ended up creating that crater... oh, Faust...

It may have 'purified' Sunset of her demonic form... but it also did more than that.

It also forced Sunset to feel every single student she had bullied. Feelings about her. Their fear. Their caution around her.

Sunset teared up.

The feeling of all of their thoughts and feelings towards her was beyond overwhelming. Especially, their full hatred of her. Hatred of the hell she inflicted on them. Hell, that she kept doing for so long.

None more so than poor Fluttershy, who Sunset had been the cruelest with.

And now her reputation is ruined. The rest of the students are clearly no longer afraid of her and would be willing to finally put her down.

And yet... the Princess reached down to her... to give her a second chance.

Sunset felt the tears pour down the sides of her head as she stared at the cold metal ceiling with only some of the windows allowing the full moon to illuminate the darkness.

"How could I have been so stupid? It's no wonder, Princess Celestia was angry with me back then when I kept demanding that she make me a Princess."

She shut her eyes tightly before putting her right arm over them as fresh tears streamed out, "I'm sorry Princess Celestia... I'm so sorry..."

As Sunset cried, she paused as she flashbacked to Princess Twilight reaching down to her... to give her a second chance. Sure, she was effectively exiled from Equestria after her defeat. And yet, the Princess still showed a bit of kindness.

The thought about the other girls filled Sunset with newfound regret. It was after all she who broke their friendship, and she knows it is going to be hard for them after the Princess asked them to look after her.

Sunset sighed as she rubbed her eyes, "I have to apologize to them first. I have to show everyone that I'm not going back to who I was anymore!"

Too tired to bother changing, Sunset opted to just sleep right then and there. She groaned a bit when she remembered to get up early tomorrow, "Gotta fix the School's front entrance first though... and maybe the crater. It's at least a start, I guess."

Honestly, Sunset felt nervous about going back with the entire school now likely openly against her. But she has to try, even if it would take a long time to earn everyone's forgiveness.

But unbeknownst to her, the wisps of magic from the aforementioned crater had just entered her factory and hovered for a bit before it 'senses' a familiar signature and began to make its way towards its objective: Sunset Shimmer.

The firey-haired girl yawned and slowly closed her eyes just as the magic began to hover over her.

Groaning, Sunset tiredly opened her eyes a bit, and squinting up she,
