After Ash participated in the Kanto league and reached the semi-final he is a well known trainer in the region. But this success doesn´t mark the end of his journey. So, he know thinks about what to do next. As he hears about the Johto region he decides to explore it. He is excited about which new pokemon he can find there and which adventures awaiting him.
Ash decides to start his journey through Johto with his league team:
His friends Brock and Misty will accompany him on his journey through Johto. The three of them have travelled all over Kanto together already and are a good working team.

The group takes ferry to the Johto region. This ferry brings them to New Bark Town.
Before Ash left Pallet Town professor Oak recommended him to visit his colleague professor Elm in New Bark Town.
