Chapter #17

The Centre of Attention

    by: Doom Author IconMail Icon
If Maggie can feel your movements, it is hopeless to continue scaling her bare leg. Instead, you turn from her and look down the incredible height from atop her thigh to the ground, and leap into the air.

It's quite the rush, descending a distance that an ordinary person wouldn't think twice about. Your miniscule mass protects you from any damage, and you roll easily to your feet. Dusting yourself down, you look up at the intimidating wall of the girl's leg before turning to walk away, crossing a room full of even vaster giants.

Before your jump, you'd thought: "With the conversation currently being about tiny people, an eighth of an inch tall bug on the floor would draw the attention of every person in this room." You were not wrong.

"So, how small would you get?" Abby asks, continuing the hypothetical shrinking conversation. "As small as that bug there, by Maggie's leg?"

"Ha!" Ethan scoffs. "I'd have to be stupid to shrink that small! It'd be so easy to get stepped on!"

"Especially with Abs around," Taylor adds. "She never looks where she's walking!"

Panic floods your mind. If the giants have seen you and are discussing crushing you, you don't have long to live!

"No-one's stepping on anything," Maggie says firmly. You smile, thankful to the generous giant girl.

"I don't want a mess on the floor," she continues, shuffling her position with a nonchalance that still causes a thunderous tremor beneath your feet. "I'll get rid of it cleanly."

You don't have time to react before great walls of white cloth appear either side of you - tissue paper covering the tips of Maggie's finger and thumb. The girl attempts to gently pick up the 'insect' before her, but your body is more fragile than she estimated.

The walls close in on you, the relentless force of the girl's digits driving them to squeeze your body to bursting. Your blood splatters the paper, and a disappointed Maggie has to toss your corpse into the trash rather than release you outside.

THE END.
