Steve takes a look at the program and notices there is a section for "Custom Rules", and has an interesting idea. Hoping that the program is a kind one, and not written by ancient djinn, Steve writes down what he'd like to happen tonight:
I would like her to change her form based on how she wishes herself to be. She will not be aware of these changes, or the effects. No one else besides me will see the change happen. She will always be the prettiest version of her wish and I will always find her changes appealing. I can lock parts of her in place by telling her that I love something about her.
He gives the instruction a once over, feels fairly satisfied with it, and clicks save and sync.
Just then, Katie comes downstairs, wearing a flowery, knee-length dress, and a pair of black flats. "You look great honey, " Steve tells Katie when she reaches the bottom of the stairs.
"Thanks, Steve. That means a lot coming from you! I'm not thrilled with my hair though." Her short brown hair was in a short bob, just under her chin.
"Oh? I think it looks good. What don't you like about it?" Steve asks, genuinely concerned. He wants tonight to be fun and he'd rather she not star the night down.
"It's nothing, really. You know.. I just sometimes wish I had that long luxurious hair that was just effortlessly beautiful. Like you always see on TV. You know, and maybe a nicer color, like a nice red. I have sort of a flat brown."
No sooner than the words were said did Steve notice a change starting to take place. Her short brown hair was filling out and growing longer. Soon, it started to tumble over her shoulders, finally halting its growth somewhere around the middle of her back. Then the color started to change until it was a vibrant, beautiful red.
Steve took a look at his wife, with her long perfect red hair, and with a grin says "Well, I happen to love it this way."
"You're right. My long red hair is fabulous. I must have just been in a bit of a funk. Anyways, are we ready to head out?" Steve is stunned at the way she just accepted the change with no thought on the matter.
