The bodies pick up your respective heads but do not put them back on. You wonder why this is so. Did the aliens turn them into cyborgs or something? You imagine aliens inserting sensory devices into the bodies, placing a motherboard near the heart and covering them with patches of skin to hide them, but you do not want to annoy the bodies right now.
“Why are you not putting us back on?” you ask.
Your body whips out your phone and, holding you in one hand, types something. After Lillian’s body pulls out her phone on a cue, it flashes your phone in your face. You see it sent a text to Lillian’s phone with the intention that she would see it, and it wants you to read it to. The message reads like this:
“Sorry about this, but after they modified us, the aliens instructed us not put you back on.”
“So we’re stuck as heads for the rest of our lives, then?” Lillian says. Her body texts:
“Exactly. But we intend to treat you well.”
Your body texts:
“Yes, just as you treated us well when we were under your control. We promise to treat you as good pet heads.”
