It was two years following graduation, and Madison felt as if she were finally an adult. After two years of living with Cassi and Kelly following graduation, at the age of 24, Madison finally had enough money to move in on her own into a stylish apartment downtown. She was making pretty decent money working in corporate, and felt it was time to get her own place.
College was by all accounts, a wild success for Madison. President of her sorority senior year, high grades, prized internships and an immediate job offer. Madison was marked to be a rising star and everything, including her looks continued to be flawless. Despite the temptations that popped up during college, Madison had stayed at 5'7, 130, and if anything, became hotter, as she grew out of her teenage body into that of a 20somethings young professional.
Arriving into work the following Monday, Madison received a message from her boss, Dale which read, "Madison, I we filled the open position on your team, please get a chance to welcome Alex Hackard to the company when you get a chance." Madison sat in silence, starring at the screen. She had somewhat forgotten about Alex, one of meanest, although unintentional, things she had ever done to someone. She never saw Alex again after that chat. He was not in class the following day, and when she went to ask his roommate, she found out that he accepted a transfer offer to U Chicago. This whole situation made Madison extremely nervous, but she figured she needed to walk over to his workspace and make sure everything started off on the right foot. As Madison turned the corner to the previously empty cubical, she was greeted by a complete surprise. Alex...got hot?
Gone was the 270 pound somewhat shaggy looking college student she knew freshman year, replaced by someone with model-quality appearance. Alex looked to be down to 160 on a 6'0 frame, he was wearing a tie, dress pants, and dress shirt, but she could tell he had a six pack, or near one. "Alex?" she said, to the person slouched over, checking his email.
Alex still remembered the voice from their friendship freshman year, before he transferred into a much better situation. He remembered his lack of confidence after the incident. How he decided that was when he was going to start working out every night, when he was going to start eating kale and other vegetables instead of his previously red meat heavy diet. That, along with his rigors studies had completely flipped his life. Alex now looked like someone who worked out their whole life, a stunning turnaround. At the firm at which he now worked, he was considered actually slightly more senior than Madison. He still had resentment towards Madison, yet, he was never going to play his hand that early.
"Madison!" he said, turning around and jumping out of his chair to great her.
'We're coworkers?" she asked.
"I guess so," Alex responded, "Just like lit 101. This should be fun!" Madison has no idea how fun, he thought to himself.
