"Help you study the human body, huh," you say, pondering Lyra's proposition.
"Yeah," the unicorn replies. "I've always been interested in learning about humans, and while I've read a lot of books on human anatomy, I think it'd be great to do a hands-on study."
Her intentions seem genuine enough, but you can't help but ask, "What's the catch?"
"No catch at all. In fact I'm willing to make things as comfortable as possible for you. If you ever feel uncomfortable, just say the word."
"... Alright, I'll do it, if you pay me when I show up to... where are we doing this exactly?"
"At my place. It's across the street form the Carousel Boutique. And don't worry, I'll pay you every bit once you show up. How does tomorrow at noon sound."
You think on it for a moment. You don't have anything to do tomorrow, as far as you know. "That sounds good," you say.
Lyra's face brightens up. "Great!" she exclaims before pulling out a piece of paper. "Here's my number," she says as she scribbles the digits down with her magic before handing the paper to you. "Text me so I have yours, kay?"
"Sure," you say with a smile before continuing to walk home. "See you tomorrow, Lyra."
"Bye!" she says as she waves to you.
You make your way back home and see that Twilight's already returned from Fluttershy's place. "Hey, Twi," you say. "Sorry I couldn't help you and Fluttershy. I was helping AJ with something."
"No harm done," she replies. "Fluttershy and I were able to manage. Since you mentioned Applejack, though, you know her birthday is coming up, right?"
"Of course."
"You plan on getting her anything?"
"Yeah, but I'm keeping it a secret." You didn't want Twilight to know that you were getting AJ a ticket to Vanhoover. Being the inquisitive mare she is, she'd then ask you how you planned to pay for it. Sure, you could lie and say that Celestia would be paying for everything rather than half, but that could lead to a phone call to Celestia, which will lead to her getting mad at you for lying, and she'll decide not to pay for the ticket at all.
Yeah, you don't take risks with Twilight.
Instead, you attempt to change the subject. "You know, I talked to Applejack, and she said that she didn't want to do anything special for her eighteenth birthday."
"What!?" Twilight says. "Why not? An eighteenth birthday is supposed to be special! I read it in a book about important milestones in a young pony's life. Remember Rarity's eighteenth birthday party last month?"
"Oh yeah, that was a blast. Hell, even Fluttershy had a decent get-together for her birthday the month before."
"Well, maybe we can convince her to do something for the occasion..."
"Hopefully. We have two weeks, though, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Who knows? She might have a change of heart."
"I sure hope so."
With that, you go up to your room and get ready for bed. Looking after the Crusaders took a lot out of you. You can't figure out how AJ can handle them.
The next morning you woke up at around eleven in the morning, so you go downstairs for breakfast, scrambled eggs and pancakes, to be exact, and wolf it down quickly, you then rush upstairs to brush your teeth take a quick shower before getting dressed. By the time you're all ready yo leave, it was quarter to twelve. You figure that you should leave now so you could get to Lyra's on time. Thankfully, Twilight is in her room reading a book, so you're able to avoid the awkward "Where are you going?" moment.
At three minutes to noon, you reach Lyra's house. You knock on the door and the unicorn promptly answers. "[Your name]! You made it! Come in!" she says happily. You both go to Lyra's living room, where you both take a seat. What does Lyra do first.
