Vanilla sniffled, bundled up with a bowl of soup in her chair. The motherly rabbit had been unfortunate enough to catch a flu, and it was really putting a damper on her day; she felt so awful, she couldn't get anything done. Her body ached, her sinuses were gunked up, and she kept bouncing between feeling hot and cold. It was absolutely miserable.
Just then, there came a knock at the door. Cream answered for her, and Vanilla was surprised to see Tails coming into the room to see her.
"Hey, Vanilla. I'd heard you weren't feeling good, so I figured I could bring something that might help you out."
Vanilla blew her nose and responded, "Why, thank you Tails, that's very thoughtful!" in as bright a tone as she could muster, giving him a weak smile.
Tails pulled out a bottle of pills, the label reading Health Booster. "You see, I've been working on these for some time now. If everything goes according to plan, these experimental pills will help give you the boost you need to fight this and any other sickness off faster, give you more strength and energy to get well soon. I understand if you don't want to risk it, as this would be the first time I've tried it on a Mobian test subject, but I'm certain that they are safe and would really appreciate the feedback."
Vanilla mulled this over. It was risky taking untested medicine... but then, she trusted Tails, and hated feeling this sick...
"Okay. I'll test them for you."
"Great!" Tails sat down the bottle for her. "Take one of these with liquid every day. If all goes according to plan, you should start feeling better within the hour, and should be more immune to all sickness and aches for as long as you regularly take the pills. Keep in touch with me if you notice anything strange."
And with that, Tails took his leave, leaving the bottle with Vanilla. Looking at it, she promptly took a pill out and took it with water, feeling it slide down her throat. She winced, her sore throat aching at the sensation, then relaxed back to see what would happen.
Sure enough, about an hour later her symptoms began to miraculously begin fading away, the motherly rabbit feeling her energy returning to her. Within two hours, she was up and about again, feeling basically good as new, brimming with energy. She beamed as she stretched out, feeling even better than expected, thinking of how she'd have to thank Tails for this later. She couldn't help but giggle a little bit, feeling giddy from the rapid influx of energy she got.
Vanilla spent the rest of the day taking care of the chores she'd left for Cream to cover for her, eager to get to work. Through it all, she felt amazing, as though she were a younger and more vibrant woman again. She went to bed that night feeling satisfied with herself... and wondering, if that was just from one pill, what would the rest of her treatment do? Not knowing the answer, she soon fell asleep...
