Angie flicks a lock of golden hair out of her face for the fifth time as she tries to get a good look at the damage you've done. She's a pretty sharp girl who can hold her ground well in a battle, but unluckily for her, you happen to be a little bit sharper. One more move, and you'll have this game in the bag.
She slides her bishop forward to block your queen, which is exactly what you want. Your eyes glint gleefully as you reach for your knight to move it into the winning position. Your mouth readies itself to say that oh so beautiful word that all winners say.
"Checkmat--"
Before you can finish, a foreign arm flies across the entire chessboard, shoving all the pieces onto the hardwood floor. You look up to see a girl with black hair and big blue eyes.
"Marisa!? What the hell did you do that for!?" you scream.
Marissa smiles innocently and giggles a bit. "Oops, sorry."
"What do you mean 'oops?' You did that on purpose!" you say.
"Davie, I think it really was an accident." Angie says.
"Whatever," you say, getting up from the couch, "I've gotta go to the bathroom anyways. I'll be right back."
You stomp your way to the bathroom, but before you can grab the doorknob, the door swings open, and Erica stares at you through her little glasses.
"Is something wrong?" she says.
"It's nothing." you say, "I just need to go to the bathroom."
You quickly move past her and close the door.
You let out an angry sigh. You know for a fact that Marissa's being a liar because she's lied to you plenty of times before. Why did the other girls have to trust her so much? She was way too good at doing that innocent puppy dog look.
You reach for the toilet to flush it, but the second your hand touches the flusher, a shockwave of energy rushes through your body, making you fall to your knees and shut your eyes in agony. The shock surges through your body for a good minute, before it finally slows down and stops.
