Claire tucked Maggie into her crib. “Maybe now I can get some time to myself,” the teenager whispered with a grin. Claire decided to leave the music on, hoping it would keep her sister asleep until Mom got home.
“Go to sleep, go to sleep,” The speakers continued as Claire started to tiptoe out of the room. “My sleepy little Maggie, you are so precious to me.”
“I just hope Mom (yawn) hurries,” The adolescent thought.
“Go to sleep, go to sleep, my sleepy little Maggie. You are so precious to me.”
“I wonder if I could,” Claire continued as her eyes began to feel heavy. “Sneak out for (yawn) just an hour or two.”
“Go to sleep, go to sleep.”
The teen smiled to herself, “I really did use to love this song.”
Claire yawned again as her legs gave way to her weight, and she slid to the floor. “Just a little snooze, then I’ll head out.” She glanced over at Maggie, who was sleeping soundly in her crib, her little pacifier bobbing up and down ever so slightly. “Look at her,” Claire sighed. “Not a care in the world. With Mommy and me around, all she has to worry about is diaper rash.” Finally, she shut her eyes and fell asleep.
