Raven sat around a campfire by his tent as the army came to a rest one night. Not too far from his own was Hector's tent, a heir to the Ostia thrown and the same people responsible for his family troubles. He glared at him in hatred, not understanding why he was working for him in his army. "Do you really need to make it so obvious?" Lucius came out from his own tent holding a Lightning tome.
"Remind me why I'm working for him?" Raven asked, sounding completely ticked off. "If only Priscilla hadn't joined him." He murmured flicking a twig into the camp fire. Lucius sighed and disappeared into his tent again to sleep for the night, since Raven was too hot headed to listen to logic. The sound of rustling grass startled him, making him spin around quickly to spot Matthew stalking up behind him.
"Whoa!" Matthew flinched when the man spun around, "Take it easy!"
"What are you doing here?" Raven asked slyly. It was unlikely to see him around camp at this time. Matthew smirked and took his arm out from the small cape like thing on his right shoulder. He revealed a potion in his right hand, slightly sparking Raven's curiosity. "What's that?" He asked, pointing towards the beaker.
"Canas said something about the enemy attempting to use it in the last battle." Matthew told him, "I thought it would be of value so I stole it." Raven's eyebrow lifted.
"And you're showing me this, why?" He asked again, slightly confused by Matthew's actions.
"He said it would've made the enemy immensely powerful, though just one of them." Matthew continued, "So I figured you'd be a potential buyer." Apparently Matthew wasn't thinking of his master's safety. Raven glanced over at Hector again and noticed his size. He was one of the biggest men in the army, slightly bigger then Raven himself. At the same time that meant he was more powerful and wouldn't need to buy into any of Raven's demands. A little power behind himself might get a little bit of leverage to his plan.
"How much?" Raven asked, standing up. Matthew scratched his chin.
"Two hundred gold." Matthew answered, holding out his hand for the money. Raven gave him an angry look but pulled out his gold pouch and counted out two hundred and forked it over. Matthew exchanged the beaker with him and ran off into the night like a thief should. Raven held the potion out in front of him and contemplated it, would now be the best time. Without a second thought he flipped up and downed the potion, craving the power he was promised.
