A much anticipated summer - a town comes to terms with lost opportunities & dreams.

Set in a small rural town in Australia, this work in progress is a story about a group of characters who are anticipating the arrival of summer for a variety of reasons.  A middle aged woman is looking forward to the return of her son who has been away for a gap year, and is returning to start his university degree.  A young teenager is anticipating her job at the local pool as a life guard.  An older farmer, who has not told his family of his recent medical results, faces his last year as the local commander of the rural fire service.
