Lyrically Speaking

with good lyrics you should be able to find some kind of rhythm/get a sense of the music to accompany it. If I can't do that then I let the author know. I am a firm believer of lyrics are basically just a form of poetry - although many lyricists disagree. But they are - they follow the same base rules. There are some lyrics that you can't do this with [well you can but it sounds weird, ya just gotta know how to 'translate'] but there are only a couple of groups that do that [most from the various 'sub-genres' of rock]

Hints when posting lyrics:

tell peeps what kinda song it is, if it's rock then say so better still if it's in the vein of a particular band or song tell the reader - makes it easier to 'get' a sense of the music

use ML when you post your lyric [make a key] best way to explain it is just to show ya onea my pieces. Please note this is only rated GC because the content may be offensive to those of christain beliefs [would otherwise be 18+] {riem:716277} You can see the use of bold and italics to portray spoken, screamed & whispered parts.

Presentation plays a big part dun just post them like:

blah blah blah/blah blah/blah....


Actually present it in the various verses [so it looks like poetry] I know there are a few peeps on site that only post in the above way because they are lyric not poetry. But by doing so they make it harder for the reader to get a sense of the music for the piece [I hope that makes sense] You have to remember you are posting just the lyric - your not posting the actual song. You gotta help the reader get a feel of the piece - help them out as much as you can!
