I think a lot of people feel that way. For me, there's a difference between poetry and lyrics, but it's more of an intuitive thing that I can't really explain. However, lately, I've been using poetry forms in my lyrics to convey a sort of rhythmic rift to show the wild nature of emotions in the song (did that make anysense at all?).
