Song Titles

Thought for the day:

Do song titles influence a song's success? What role(s) do(es) a song title have? I've been wondering about this ever since I've looked at various song titles of my favorite songs. Such titles:

*Star* "Heavy" (Train)
*Star*"Train" (Train)
*Star*"Squonk" (Genesis)
*Star*"Turn Off the Lights" (Nelly Furtado)
*Star*"Firth of Fifth" (Genesis)
*Star*"Travelling Without Moving" (Jamiroquai)
*Star*"Don't Speak" (No Doubt)
*Star*"Prayer for the Dying" (Seal)

Note: I only used titles for songs with lyrics. Instrumentals are a different story altogether.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the issue?
