Poetry Contest Based on Star Trek! Happy Birthday WDC! {BACK for the WDC 16th Bday !) |
Hey Everyone ![]() This is a great idea to warm up those think tanks and get those creative juices stewing... I'm sure we've all had one of those niggling ideas that can't quite form a story in our lovely warped minds, now here's a chance that we can get them out in a less formal but more imaginative manner! (Yay!) All this talk of poetry actually puts to my mind a particular dialogue that Dr. Bashir and Chief O'Brien once had... "What are you telling me, my baby's just... sad?" --"Perhaps he's become prematurely aware of life's existential isolation." "You're sure its not a rash?" --"Look at the bright side: he'll probably be a great poet." Maryann has very kindly asked me to help Judge this competition to which I so humbly accepted (who, me? ... why?). Which the downside of this is that I can't enter it myself. But being impartial has always been a great ability of mine (sic) so all poems mentioning either Chakotay or Wesley Crusher in swimming trunks (but since this competition is PG-13 the trunks must stay on!) will be highly desirable if not favourable. Let the existentialism of the Star Trek Universe begin! |
