Actually, I do. Many years ago, my sister and I went to a conference in colorado that was for women in fantasy. Each year they had three prominent writers. The reason we went that year was due to one of those big name authors being Tamora Pierce. My sister still listens to her books nonstop. Growing up, we read two of the series she wrote in particular, including one about a girl pretending to be a boy to train as a knight.

I got a signature on a book from her not during a signing, but during one of the discussions because it was a small conference. I was sitting right next to her and she was kind enough to sign the book since I had missed the official signing. She is a really nice author.

I have also met and had conversations with Connie Willis, who write science fiction novels. She is a very entertaining speaker too.
