A tie between two really weird incidents that probably shouldn't bug me but they do. One night my freshman year of college I went for a walk to a nearby park. It was dark except for the occasional streetlamp. I was walking across the baseball diamond when I felt someone watching me. As I looked around I spotted a man in a baseball cap. He was silhouetted by a streetlamp so I couldn't see him clearly. It kind of freaked me out so I ran away. I looked back once I was safely out of the park. I didn't see anybody. The second incident happened years later. I was working in a semi-open air haunted attraction. It was a hot summer night. We were required to carry water bottles to keep hydrated. I was climbing down the ladder leading from the second story of the attraction. I had been holding on with only one hand. My grip slipped and I was suddenly free falling towards the cement floor. I know it's stupid but I thought that I was going to die. I'd already managed to drop my water bottle. Somehow I grabbed the railing and slowed the plummet. I limped away and tried to work through the pain the rest of the night. |
