Um! I thought putting an effort in would always produce a harvest? I bought a guitar in the 60's, from a secondhand store for 5$. I bought a quitar lesson book for 12$ from PBS in Texas and took some lessons on TV. Then in the 1980's, I took some lessons from a teacher in a town near our farm. He told me my 5$ guitar was worthless and could not even be tuned  . I bought a new guitar with money from lambs. Then, he told me females did not usually play classical guitar. (not true, found some well known in the 1800's) this was all before computers. He was a good instructor though, Then, I went to a Bible Institute for a year, and had a female instructor, who told me to not worry about getting the notes right just work on speed. (bad advice) She could play really well. Back on the farm I put the guitar away for 20 years, then one day picked it up in 2000 wondered why I never play it anymore, In 2025 started a search on the internet. Found a website in Canada. Bought their books added to the one I use and took free lessons. Learned more about music and guitar, I ever heard before, Wonderful classical guitarists male and female all over the internet playing beautiful music. Now I try to play daily. Not for professional just for the joy of doing it and making my own music. Just a funny! I can't remember how to spell the word Guitar always want to use a Q instead of a G. My philosophy, never give in, just keep learning and using knowledge. Not everyone is a professional about a thing, but you can have a joyful time just trying to learn something. Plus, the effort and trials of work produced, keep the mind from overriding your personality, with worthless thought. apondia#1781748 |
