As you say a million isn't that much these days but I know too many charities who need help to make this an easy choice. In Australia we have the television channel SBS which does its level best to tug at your heartstrings and wallet. After the 7am news come the plights of the captive bears, the starving children and the Australian kids who are just hard done by. I couldn't decide amongst those. There are a myriad of diseases which need money for research but if I had to pick one I'd choose Motor Neurone Disease research. I wish we had more philanthropic people in Australia, how wonderful it would be to actually afford to do something which would really change the world for the better.  |
