Well, her designation is "homemaker" not trash man. Taking out the garbage is a man's job.
I have one husband who works many hours each week and three sons. We all share equally in all housecleaning tasks.
But: I will be damned if I touch the garbage.
Now, I'm not a homemaker right now, but ... no. If we're going to have any kind of gendered roles in the household, then taking out the trash is part of the man's job to keep the outside taken care of. Like lawnmowing etc.
