I haven't been accused of something I didn't do, but my mom nearly got accused of stealing her own car. Back in the late 90s/early 200`, my mom had the front license plate of her car stolen. Just the front plate. She reported to the police right away. A couple of weeks later, as she was leaving her second job at the end of her shift at 9pm, she walked out into the parking lot to find her car surrounded by cops. Apparently, an officer doing a random check had run my mom's plate and the theft report came up. But for some reason, nobody read the whole thing and thought the whole car had been stolen and not just the plate. They let my mom get her copy of the report out of the glove box, read it, apologized and left.
