So, it's been almost a year now, but I actually did find a reference to Westside having a school newspaper in "Victoria Rodriguez and the Real Rulers of Westside" , albeit in a very throwaway manner.

"You had looked around the room used by the school paper, used in a very loose term as the paper's really just Kim and whoever she can wrangle into actually doing things that week"
