A long time ago I wanted a powder blue suit. The Yardbirds' first album had a photo on its cover and Eric Clapton was wearing a powder blue suit in it. He wasn't a god back then, in spite of his nickname of Slowhand, but that suit was cool. For a long time I wanted one just like that. In fact, it was only just recently that I realised I no longer wanted that suit. It's not as cool as it once was and, besides, when do I ever have occasion to don a suit? I have given it a place among The Follies of Youth.
