What's something you used to want, but don't anymore? Alcohol. I always thought it would be great to have a full bar in my house. But, I couldn't afford the alcohol (in my younger days), and didn't know how to make the more complex drinks. You know what I mean, a Singapore Sling, Long Island Ice Tea, and the like. (I drank those quite a but when younger) Those drink were magical in my eyes, and complex. Sure, I could pour a glass of wine or beer. mix a decent Rum & Coke, Jack & Coke, easy drinks like that. I wanted to try about every drink out there. Then I found how vile Gin is, only to learn that a good Long Island Ice Tea contained Gin! Oh well. Now, I stick to Margaritas, Old Fashioned and the like. Why? My tastes are simpler, and I've seen that a mixed drink may contain very little alcohol, mixed with a lot of juice. I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, I can tell when a drink has very little alcohol in it, because I can feel the effects of it quickly, or not so quickly. So no effects? Very little alcohol. So Old Fashioned it is, or a Tennessee/Kentucky Mule (a Moscow Mule made with Bourbon or Whiskey, not Vodka), or a Margarita on ice, not frozen. Plus, I now have an app on my phone called Perfect Drink, with about every imaginable drink listed, and how to make it. Jim Dorrell{/sig} |
