Almost everyone assumes that you have to be married, or have a partner to celebrate Valentine's Day. My late husband proposed on Valentine's Day, and before he died, we certainly celebrated it together, but he and I agreed there were many more forms of love than just the romantic kind. We would include as many friends as possible in whatever we were doing (until he went on bedrest), and then have a romantic dinner that night. Post having Covid, I'm immuno-compromised enough to have to spend flu season indoors, and even when I can be outside in the summer, I can't spend a long time in crowded buildings, but there are plenty of things that I can do with friends online, like hang out on WdC, attend my Continung Catholic Education classes, enjoy a wide variety of events, hanging out with friends and family members on Zoom, etcetera. |
