So this is going to take some explanation, but I am working on a novel inspired by the Rosary specifically the Fruits of the Rosary. For those who don't know that much about the Rosary. It has four sets of five Mysteries each. They are the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries, the Glorious Mysteries, and the Luminous Mysteries. Each of the Mysteries has a "fruit " or virtue which one is supposed to learn from each of the Mysteries. Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to write a series of short stories about a some young adults learning each of the fruits. I managed to write the first two. Then, I wrote a third one out of order because I thought that particular fruit would be good for a contest prompt. But then I had an idea for something more ambitious. I thought that I would write a multi-genre novel in which the Joyful Mysteries told a fanrtasy story, the Sorrowful Mysteries told a Horror story and the Glorious Mysteries told a Science fiction story. I was still a little unsure what to do with the Luminous Mysteries. At one point, I thought about trying to make them a Mystery story, but now I'm thinking it's better to make them just an ordinary story about people in the present day. But the plots of all four of these stories will somehow be connected. When exactly did I start this project? Well, the WDC time stamp dates the item as being created in December 2022. It couldn't have been that long ago. Well, I guess it must have been. What's been holding me back? Well, a lot of things in the real world like the stress of my job and damge to my computer to be sure. But internally I've had several difficulties working out exactly how these stories fit together. Also, I've insisted on writing a cahpter of each story at a time. Maybe that's not the best order, but it's the way I want to do it. What can the WDC community do to help? Not much. Short of coming to Hondureas, pointing a gun at my head, and telling me to write. Or a more positive idea would be to offer me a publication guarantee with a million dollar advancew payable upon completeion of the manuscript. That would definitely get it finished faster. Any takers? I didn't think so. I suppose one other possibility would be to review what's already written, but since there's only three chapters as of this writing, I don't know how much that will help.
