As a SF reader and sometimes SF writer, I think (way too often) about how they'll handle time on Mars. Will they keep our ancestral 24-hour clock, or try to force alien (from Earth in this case) organisms onto the Martian 24h40m (roughly) schedule? I keep going back and forth, like the time changes here on Earth. The first Martian colonies, assuming we last long enough to make some, will be underground, and sunlight won't matter as much, so keeping our biological time would make sense. I think.
Okay, I'll shut up now.
