One can go to a police station and ask questions. Or maybe if they actually do ride alongs, they could try that. Maybe. Or, just watch Snapped and Cold Cases to find out details. If doing a lot of murder research online and such, well, just hope no one near you dies while you are doing research cause it won't look good on your part.
