October Novel Prep Challenge

I will add here that most publishers do not like names that are too close to one another in sound, unless it is important for story beats.

As for me, I choose names based on their meaning, and match the names to a dominant characteristic of the character, or a name that means the complete opposite.

So, an example would be my current WiP where Mikayla is a MC. She fights demons, and so her name is a female form of Michael, the archangel who is said to slay demons.

I like names to mean something, I guess.
