Universities provide research, and produce experienced research personnel.

My experiences have been with college grads and dropouts. Alot of the grads had applied themselves, were intelligent, and continued to learn in their fields. Conversely, others were educated morons demonstrating a strong belief that shooting off their mouth made them sound intelligent. (Yes, some were decent.

I'll leave out the gulibility.
