 A month-long novel-planning challenge. NaNoWriMo'ers welcome! |
It seems that everyone is focusing on the name thing. Are there answers to my other querstions, viz: Questions: Just to get everything straight... WdC is going to be running its own form of NaNoWriMo; that much seems obvious. So, is it still going to have the same 50k word goal? Is it going to be open-ended as to what is written (an anthology, 3 novellas, 1 novel), or is it going to be novel-writing with those strict guidelines (which is what prep would indicate)? Are there any other things about it we need to let people know about, beyond Prep being not compulsory? Are we going to advertise this change in venue from NaNo to WdC only to the wider WdC community? If so, when? Should we give people plenty of notice, all things considered? Are we going to give it a go this year, and then use the success (hopefully) of this to entice new members to WdC from next year who were once NaNo-ers? Are we going to allow extra writing in the month once the novel is finished (like I did last year)? Yes, a lot of questions, but if we/you are going to be doing this, then a lot of stuff just in the presentation needs to be considered. Sorry for interrupting/ interfering. I'll go away now. |
