The first ones you mentioned as you said are the most familiar. I read the article about Dr. Ingaz Semmelweis [first I've ever heard of him]. Was an interesting read and it was a shame what happened to him. Finally got his recognition when Pasteur proved his work was correct. I would consider Charles Curtis as a modern figure though it is close to 100 years ago. Being the first Native American to attained the VP and still is the only one to hold the highest office for a Native American. Nice interesting list of people you'd like to talk to and meet. |
