I've never been that close to a wild animal, unless you want to count a rabbit as one. That poor thing was so scared... I never got a good look at it, other than to see a furry thing running away. The closest I ever was to a wild animal was in Yellowstone, about 1974. I was in a Navy School in Idaho (yeah, I know. A Navy School in Idaho?), and took a weekend to visit nearby Yellowstone. We stopped along the road one time, and off in the distance, maybe a couple hundred yards away, was a Moose! I didn't try to get closer, there was no eye-to-eye contact. I was content to just watch it meander around the Meadow. What a beautiful sight! Jim Dorrell{/sig} |
